Presidio Appoints David DeRuff to Lead, Build Tech Practice

The Presidio Group has announced that it has named David A.DeRuff Managing Director and Head of Technology Investment Banking.

DeRuff has more than 25 years experience as an investment bankerserving the needs of a broad range of technology companies, theCompany reported.

"David has an impressive record of not only transactiondevelopment and execution, but also building strong teams with deepindustry expertise," said James Student, Head of Investment Bankingat Presidio. "We believe there are significant opportunities for atechnology practice that is focused on M&A and financings in the $50-500 million range, and complements Presidio's existing corporateadvisory practices in technology/internet enabled business servicesand auto technology."

DeRuff was most recently with FBR Capital Markets, joining thefirm after it acquired East Peak Advisors which he founded in 2002.Under DeRuff's leadership, both FBR and East Peak were well-regarded for the depth of their industry knowledge, corporate andventure relationships and transactional expertise.

At Montgomery Securities, DeRuff was a top producing banker incomputer products and services, completing more than 100transactions and dominating the sector in lead-managed transactions.Following the sale of Montgomery to NationsBank, he was recruited toexpand the West Coast technology team for Donaldson, Lufkin &Jenrette. When Credit Suisse First Boston acquired DLJ, DeRuff leftto open East Peak.
