A SHOPPER who lost her engagement ring has been reunited with her treasured jewellery - thanks to Twitter.
B r i d e -t o -b e Rachel Thomas, 27, became one of Wales' top talking points on the micro-blogging internet site over Christmas, with her distinctive ring made from a 19th-century sterling silver fork being viewed on Twitter more than 7,000 times.
Ms Thomas, from Cardiff, said: "I am still amazed now that I have got it back and I am obviously very grateful to the woman who found it.
"I don't tend to use Twitter a huge amount, but the reaction has been amazing." Freelance designer Elen Williams, 28, came across the ring while doing her Christmas shopping in Cardiff.
She said: "I heard the ring fall on the ground in front of me. I picked it up and looked round, but I couldn't see anyone."
When her friend told her about the online appeal, Ms Williams realised the inside of the ring was inscribed with "marry me".
